Drupal update via drush and nightmare with clean_url

Okay, this happened again and I was about the make a final decision to move a site from Drupal to Wordpress. Drupal is solid and unparallel with any other CMS when it comes to content management. This is why I'm still using Drupal for several of my sites.

This time, I am going to put it down in writing how to get rid of the clean_url issue. Here's what happened.

I was updating Drupal 7 with some security fixes for some modules via drush. And it broke. I somehow managed to complete the update process which ended up with a broken site.

All but the frontpage showed 404 file not found error.

The solution:

Copy the .htaccess file from the new drupal folder to the document root of your website!

Simple.
